Here are the top policy items on Supervisors’ agenda for March 7, 2023. The meeting is to begin at 9 a.m.
Workforce Housing for Public Employees
Development of the Oak Hill Apartments project is moving forward on an 8.5-acre parcel near San Quentin Village. The Board of Supervisors is being asked to approve the creation of a joint powers authority (JPA) and execute an agreement with the County of Marin, the Marin County Board of Education (MCOE) so the JPA can act on the project’s behalf. The apartments are meant o provide affordable options for the County and MCOE workforce and to help increase recruitment and retention of employees. (Staff report)
Health and Human Services Strategic Plan
The County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is implementing its strategic plan to achieve health and wellness equity. The goals include: delivering culturally proficient and equity-centered client services; supporting and partnering with communities to generate change; addressing conditions that underlie equity; and improving the quality of HHS programs and services. Annual Consumer Protection Report
The County’s Department of Agriculture / Weights and Measures is committed to serving the public’s interest by ensuring equity in the marketplace and protecting the economic health and welfare of Marin’s residents. Each year it releases a consumer protection report so residents are aware of how tax dollars are spent to ensure people are getting what they pay for every transaction. Weather Radar Station on Mount Barnabe
The County Department of Public Works (DPW) is collaborating with local, state and federal agencies on a weather radar installation that uses enhanced radar to track atmospheric rivers. The system known as the Advanced Quantitative Precipitation Information (AQPI) project includes an installation on County-owned Mount Barnabe, near Samuel P. Taylor State Park in West Marin.
